HYDERABAD: Boys outdid girls by clinching top two positions in science and general groups in annual examinations for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-II (Class-X), 2017, while the girls had to content themselves with third places, according to results announced on Saturday.
In the science group, Arsalan Khan and Habibullah of Cadet College, Petaro, secured first and second positions, respectively, by obtaining 759 and 757 marks out of total 850 marks. The third position went to Muskan of Comprehensive Grammar High School, Matli, with 755 marks.
A total of 51,715 students passed the science group and of them 2,847 were placed in grade A-I, 16,045 secured grade A, 19,076 grade B, 11,306 grade C, 2,409 grade D and 23 could barely manage to pass in grade E.
In the general group, Sultan Ali of Government Boys High School, Gharo, stood first with 680 marks, Naseer Ali Shah of Government High School, Nawabshah, clinched second position by securing 663 while Zubeda of Government Girls High School, Badin, made it to third place with 651 marks.
Of the 1,618 students who got through the general group, only one secured grade A-I, 99 were placed in grade A, 666 obtained grade B, 654 grade C, 194 grade D and four were placed in grade E, said an official handout.
