PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party has criticised Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan for his remarks about Asif Ali Zardari.
PPP former provincial president Rahimdad Khan said in a statement here on Monday that PTI chief needed to update his knowledge because Mr Zardari was kept in prison for 12 years without any reason and court acquitted him honourably.
“After the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif now it is turn of PTI chief and other leaders to face the same fate,” he said. He said that Imran Khan was using derogatory language against politicians and creating confusion all the times.
The PPP leader said that in the prevailing situation all opposition parties were needed to join hands to strengthen democracy and field a unanimous candidate for the slot of prime minister but Imran spoiled the opportunity.
Rahimdad says PTI chief, other leaders to meet Nawaz’s fate
Mr Khan said that PPP leaders were always targeted by dictators and those people, who came into power through military generals, but they never bowed down before others.
He said Imran was bound to run the affairs of his provincial government successfully to restore confidence of people otherwise his party candidates would be unable to win any of the future elections. He said that in future no political party would like to join hands with PTI due to his irresponsible attitude.
“It seems that PTI is no more interested to remain in power in the province because it has failed to serve people. It is trying to dissolve the provincial assembly and save its face,” said the PPP leader.
He said that in the past Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal also failed to fulfil its commitment with the voters and its leaders including the then former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani resigned.
The PPP leader said that people knew the tactics of PTI. He said that PTI ministers would be unable to flee because they had to answer the questions of their voters. He said that PPP could topple the government though a forceful protest but it was not in favour of any step, which could derail democracy. He said that rulers should complete their tenure but answer questions regarding their failure.
Regarding end of the alliance between PTI and Qaumi Watan Party, the PPP leader said that both the parties played childish role in the government. He said that politicians should prove seriousness to restore confidence of people.
