The Government of Punjab recently put its foot in the mouth after sharing misleading pictures of a Dera Ghazi Khan school it claimed had been 'fixed' after it was criticised for being in a sorry state.

On July 24, an activist had taken to Twitter to bring attention to the Government Girls’ Public School in Dera Ghazi Khan's MC Number 9. He shared pictures showing that the road outside the school was broken and rubbish had been strewn around, while the school’s outer wall also showed visible cracks.

The following day, the official Government of Punjab Twitter account responded by thanking the activist for pointing the issue out and sharing pictures that showed a much cleaner school building and surrounding area.

However, on July 28, three days after the Punjab government’s tweet, the activist called out the Punjab government on its 'pro-activeness'.

He returned to the school and tweeted a video showing that the state of the school was in the same state as before, with piles of rubbish leaning on the school's wall and the road leading to it still broken.

The Punjab government responded to the tweet on July 31 and said that the matter was being looked into, but failed to share any updates on the matter since then.
