Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the family of Major Ali Salman (late), who had embraced martyrdom during an intelligence based operation at Timergara, Dir on August 9, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army chief acknowledged the "supreme sacrifice" rendered by Maj Ali and said that he has made us all proud. "We will restore peace and rule of law, whatever sacrifices it may cost," he was quoted as saying.

"No threat can deter resolve of a nation which is united, resilient and honours its heroes," Gen Bajwa said.

Later, the army also visited the family of Brigadier Mohammad Hasnain who lost his life in a road accident while on his way to the operational area of South Waziristan.

Gen Bajwa's wife and Commander Lahore Corps also accompanied Gen Bajwa.
