Pakistan prepares for 71st Independence Day

Annual celebrations will be held in Islamabad with participation from all the three armed forces.

Preparations for Pakistan's 71st Independence Day are in full swing as the government, forces and people prepare to celebrate.

Annual celebrations will be held in Islamabad with participation from all three armed forces. The security personnel from all three armed forces are busy in rehearsals to make the proceedings — which are also televised — memorable for the audience.

Its a humble request to The Dawn news agency and any logical Pakistani to enlighten many as to why Pakistan celebrates Independence Day and not Foundation Day which is more legitimate literally. Paksitan was never under British Rule, none of the Pakistanis fought for freedom so I would humbly request for this small silly question from my Pakistani brothers to answer, Why celebrate Independence when you weren't slave, you were born so legitimately you should celebrate Foundation Day right? . I know Dawn is one of the very liberal and outword thinking news agency in the world so I can hope for an answer. Thanks in advance!

@Optimistic sit how can you say Pakistan never under British rule.. before 1947 India and Pakistan both under British rule after that they separated.. so there is no any problem to celebrate independent day rather than foundation day..
