KARACHI: The quartet comprising Bounce Club, Askari Alphas, Arambagh Club and Nishtar Club qualified for the semi-finals of the Independence Day basketball tournament at the Arambagh floodlit court on Thursday.

Bounce Club carved out an exciting 56-49 victory over Askari Alphas in the last league match to top group A. The winners led 33-27 at half time.

Mubashir emerged as top scorer with 18 and was followed by Zia and Muzammil who scored 13 apiece for the winners.

Bakhtiar and Shahmeer were outstanding for the losers with 20 and 14 respectively.

In an earlier match, Arambagh Club fought back in the last two quarters to post 45-31 victory over Nishtar Club to top group B.

Both the teams were locked 13-all and 10-all in the first and second quarters.

Raj Kumar, Daniyal and Asad Imam scored 18, 12 and 10 points rewpectively for winners while Talha top scored or losers with 11.
