Who is Bill Gates?

Published August 19, 2017

To do great things in life, you need inspiration. And what better way is there to get inspired than to read about people who did great things.

Penguin’s series Who was? is made up of stories about great men and women who were trailblazers, legends, inventors, leaders and much more. I got my hands on Who is Bill Gates? and what an interesting book it is! I won’t call this book a biography because it is so interesting to read and not at all boring like one expects a biography to be.

Catering to readers between eight to 12 years of age, the book is simply written, with simple black and while line drawings. However, it narrates the events of his life in such an interesting way that you feel like you are Bill Gates, writing the computer codes and programmes that changed the world into what we now experience today.

Well, maybe because Gates is a pioneer of our age, a computer scientist who is responsible for many of the things that have become an important part of our everyday like, reading his story was so relatable. One of the most important lessons a reader gets from the book and Bill Gates’ story is that passion and hard work helped him become what he is today.

To make the right use of one’s intelligence and talent from a young age, and to work hard and apply a great deal of passion for that work, is what it takes to become someone who revolutionaries the world. There are many other titles in this series and I am looking forward to reading the other titles. Early readers should find it an easy and enjoyable book to read.
