D.I. Khan, Bannu advance

PESHAWAR: Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu recorded identical 2-1 victories to advance to the next round of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-District Football Championship at the Sumbal Khan Football Ground here on Friday.

Dera Ismail Khan overcame Mardan thanks to two first-half goals.

Naiz Mohammad struck in the sixth minute and Jamshed made it 2-0 before Mardan reduced the margin through Murad Khan in the second half.

Bannu had to come from behind to beat Hangu.

Asmatullah fired Hangu into an early lead but Muneeb scored either side of half-time to earn them victory.
