Gomez’s new album will have Latin influence

Selena Gomez confirmed that her album will have a Latin influence, telling her 50.6 million Twitter followers she “always” incorporates her heritage onto each record. She named Eminem as her dream collaborator, but kept mum about who will appear on her album.

“I love being able to collaborate w/different artists and producers so every song is new and different. #streamwithsel Can’t name anyone yet,” the star tweeted. “[I most love] being able to learn from someone else’s sound and combining it with mine.”

Tom Cruise breaks ankle

Paramount Pictures said in a statement, “During production on the latest Mission: Impossible film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt. Production will go on hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery, and the film remains on schedule to open July 27, 2018.”

While Cruise has not addressed his injury, the film studio said, “Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support, and can’t wait to share the film with everyone next summer.”

The accident occurred when Tom, while filming in London, tried to run and jump from one platform onto another structure (while wearing a safety wire). But the 55-year-old actor — who insists on doing his own stunts —missed the mark and slammed into the building, injuring himself in the process. Cruise then hobbled around the set as crew members rushed to his aid. The action movie will be distributed in 3D.

SAG Life Achievement Award for Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman has been named the 54th recipient of the SAG Life Achievement award, in recognition of his career achievements and humanitarian efforts over the years. The 80-year-old will be honoured during the 2018 SAG Awards, which will be simulcast on TBS and TBT January 21.

The award is given annually to an actor who fosters the “finest ideals of the acting profession.”

“I am thrilled to announce Morgan Freeman as this year’s recipient of the SAG Life Achievement Award,” SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris said in a statement. “Some actors spend their entire careers waiting for the perfect role. Morgan showed us that true perfection is what a performer brings to the part. He is innovative, fearless and completely unbound by expectations. Morgan fully realised every character, baring their souls and showcasing their humanity.” Freeman has nearly 100 film credits to his name.
