AFTER trial for about 10 years, the court has decided the Benazir Bhutto Shahadat case: culprits not found guilty and only two police officers were punished for dereliction of duty. The PPP leadership has not accepted the decision.
It was hoped the PPP leadership will explain its failure to identify the actual planners, facilitators and executioners of this heinous crime during its five-year rule in Islamabad, and what its role and interest in the 10 years of trial were.

The culprits were not found guilty - or were the culprits not found at all?

Dear Editor, Murder is a heinous crime so culprit must be punished severally and accordingly. Culprit should be hanged to death after prosecution. No one should be above the law.
Benazir's murder was a pre-planned and deliberate action. It was peculiar type of murder. Benazir was a world fame and a great leader. Her murder had a great impact in political circle of Pakistan. Overwhelming condolences messages within Pakistan and abroad were thrown out on her innocent killing.
Her killing was investigated by local police as well as foreign police squads but nothing solid was discovered. It is ridiculous to say that such investigation was done while Asif Ali Zardari was in power that time with no result. I still remembered once when Zardari sahib when visited Benezer's grave at Nodaro on her death anniversary said, " I know who is Bibi's killer " It left a big question mark to Mr. Zardari, that why he didn't grab him and prosecuted rather than wasting millions rupees on investigation.
