LAHORE: On the pressure of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s NA-120 candidate Dr Yasmin Rashid and other leaders, the Qila Gujjar Singh police on Friday registered a case against a PML-N’s youth wing activist for torturing a PTI woman activist.

PTI activist Nida reported to police that she was making a video of disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz’s rally on The Mall when PML-N activist Abid Mushatq caught her from hair and dragged her out of her car. She stated the suspect abused her, kicked her and even torn her clothes.

Later, Dr Yasmin Rashid had told a press conference that police had been asked to register a case and arrest the suspect. She had also threatened to block The Mall, if police tried to delay the suspect’s arrest. She had also shown picture of the suspect at the news conference.

A PTI delegation led by Dr Rashid had also met the CCPO Operations and the FIR was lodged by midday. Ms Nida had submitted her application with the Qila Gujjar Singh SHO on Thursday evening.
