DADU: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Sunday announced that party chairman Bilawal-Bhutto Zardari would address a big show in Dadu on Sunday (Sept 16).Speaking at a press conference at the guest room of MNA Rafiq Ahmed Jamali, Mr Khuhro said preparations for the public meeting had already been started. He said many other senior PPP leaders would speak at the show.

Senator Aajiz Dhamrah, MNA Imran Zafar Leghari, Sindh Minister for Rural Development Fayyaz Butt, Minister for Auqaf Syed Ghulam Shah Jilani, MPAs Aziz Junejo, Kulsoom Chandio and Dr Sajeela Leghari and several other senior PPP leaders accompanied Mr Khuhro.

Referring to the recent public meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in Dadu, Mr Khuhro said that PTI always exaggerated the strength of its shows in Sindh. “They quote 5,000 at 50,000,” he claimed.

‘PTI struggle a failure’

He said PPP along with other democratic forces always resisted attacks on democracy in the country. “Nawaz Sharif has gone but the democratic dispensation is in place,” he observed.

Speaking about military takeovers in the country in the past, the senior PPP leader said leader of one party was again seeking “umpire’s finger” or “whistle” but failed to get the democratic dispensation removed.

He said the time was no far for the accountability of PTI chairman Imran Khan. He said PTI’s politics were nearing an end as its only slogan ‘Go Nawaz go’ stood no more valid. He termed PTI’s struggle ‘failed’ arguing that it could not derail democracy despite enforcing closure of Islamabad for three months.Mr Khuhro predicted that the PPP would be in a strong position to form governments at the centre and Sindh after the next general elections.

Reporters sought Mr Khuhro’s comment on the absence of MNA Pir Mazharul Haq and his MPA son Pir Mujeebul Haq from the press conference as well as the special party meeting held at the residence of MNA Rafiq Jamali. Mr Khuhro replied that his meeting with them was scheduled at the Pirs’ residence within a few hours.

It was noted that a group of local PPP leaders led by the Pirs was no happy with MNA Jamali due to some differences.

The Pirs along with their group warmly welcomed Mr Khuhro and the leaders he was accompanying when they arrived in Dadu on Sunday.

Later, Mr Khuhro attended a tea party and also addressed a meeting of party workers at the residence of Pir Mazharul Haq.
