SWABI: A woman was killed allegedly by her addict husband here the other day. The incident occurred in Maneri Bala village in the jurisdiction of the city police station.

The local residents claimed the suspected killer, Zafar Iqbal, had two wives and that he often fought with them for money needed for drugs. They said the man had heated exchanges with one of his wives at his father-in-law’s house in the neighborhood before shot her dead.

The police registered an FIR and arrested the suspected killer.

MOTORCYCLIST KILLED: A man was killed and his friend suffered injuries when a motorcycle collided head-on with a truck on Swab-Mardan Road near Swabi Judicial Complex the other day.

The deceased was identified as Irshad Khan of Panjpir village, and the injured man as Siyar Khan.

The injured was taken to the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor, where his condition was stated be out of danger. The truck driver fled after the incident.

The police registered a case against him and began search for him. However, the suspected killer wasn’t arrested until night.

Meanwhile, the local police arrested a couple over a murder here.

Said Arab and his wife were held for killing Naveed Bacha in Kala Bridge area.

Also in the day, four people were injured when a pickup van collided head-on with a rickshaw in front of the Topi city police station.

The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital Topi. One of them was stated to be in serious condition.
