KOHAT: Four brothers were gunned down in an ambush by their cousins near a mosque in Dhoda Sharif area here on Friday.

According to Bilitang police, Luqman Hakeem, Saidullah Noor, Sahib Noor and Hazrat Noor, were attacked at the area’s main chowk while they were going home after offering prayers.

As a result of the firing, three of them died on the spot while the fourth, Saidullah succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The bodies were shifted to the KDA teaching hospital from where they were handed over to the family after postmortem.

Bilitang police reached the scene and started search operation in the area but the accused had fled to some designated safe area because the murders seemed well-planned.

Luqman Hakeem was a teacher at a local girls seminary, Saidullah was a prayer leader, Hazrat Noor was an employee of Frontier Corps, while Sahib Noor was a schoolteacher.

The police registered murder case on the report of Abdullah Noor, another brother of the deceased, against accused Samiullah, Abdullah and Talha.
