HYDERABD: Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) are busy giving final touches to arrangements for a public meeting to be addressed by the party chairman Imran Khan near Hyderabad bypass on Tuesday evening.

The party leaders Dr Arif Alvi, Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi and others visited the venue for the public meeting on Sunday evening and before them Haleem Adil Sheikh had reviewed arrangements in the ground in the afternoon, according to party sources.

Imran Khan would directly reach the venue after his arrival in Karachi the same day and would spend the night at the residence of Muhsin Ghumman, a young builder and businessman, after addressing the public meeting.

The Tuesday’s public meeting would be the first show of power by PTI chairman in Hyderabad after 2013 general elections. He had earlier visited the city while en route to Umerkot and addressed a gathering in Tandojam in November 2015 at the residence of a local party leader Khawand Bux Jahejo.

Meanwhile, some miscreants defiled and removed PTI posters in Qasimabad near Wadhu Wah, according to Javed Iqbal Junejo, president of Hyderabad Gymkhana and a retired officer of provincial local government department who had recently joined the PTI.

‘PTI’s Sukkur show was a success’

SUKKUR: Leaders of the Sukkur chapter of PTI Mobeen Jatoi, Haji Jawed Memon and Abdul Majeed Pathan have said that the massive participation of people in the party’s historic public meeting in Sukkur proves that people have rejected the current ruling clique and their false promises and slogans.

They said at gatherings in Bharo Muhalla, New Pind, Awan Chowk Mughal Colony and Shah Khalid Colony on Sunday that the faces of elected public representatives now stood unmasked before people’s eyes.

The corrupt rulers were busy amassing wealth through record corruption instead of resolving peoples’ problems, pushing the third biggest city of the province to the verge of destruction, they said.

They believed the PTI would win upcoming general elections and turn Sukkur into a forte of the party.

They asked PTI workers to spread the party’s manifesto in every nook and corner of the district to create awareness among people to use their vote in 2018 general election for change and accountability of those who had turned Sukkur into ruins.

Large groups of people belonging to different communities announced joining the PTI on the occasion.

Local PTI leaders Gohar Khoso, Dawa Khan, Manzoor Chohan, Shaban Mirani, Rab Nawaz Kalwar, Zubair Karim and others also addressed the gatherings.
