RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has confirmed death sentences awarded to four militants for their involvement in heinous offences.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations statement issued on Wednesday, the militants were involved in offences related to terrorism.
The convicts were members of banned organisations and were tried in military courts and sentenced to death. They had confessed to their offences before the magistrate and trial court.
Shabbir Ahmed, son of Muhammad Shafique, was sentenced to death for his involvement in attacking the armed forces personnel which resulted in the death of Maj Adnan and 10 other soldiers.
He was also involved in the kidnapping and slaughtering of four soldiers.
Umara Khan, son of Ahmed Khan, was convicted of attacking the armed forces which left three soldiers dead.
He was also involved in the destruction of a government girls’ primary school in Hazara.
The third convict, Tahir Ali, son of Syed Nabi, confessed to his involvement in an attack on security personnel which claimed the lives of two soldiers.
Aftabuddin, son of Farrukh Zada, was convicted of attacking law enforcement personnel which resulted in the death of a police official and injuries to another policeman.
