KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party’s women wing and Peoples Youth staged a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club on Friday against former president Gen Pervez Musharraf and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s chairman Imran Khan for hurling wild allegations against PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

PPP’s women wing leaders Shehla Raza, Sharmila Farooqi, Shagufta Jumani, Mehreen Bhutto, Saadia Javid, Shahida Rehmani, president of Peoples Youth Javid Nawab Laghari and other office-bearers took part in the protest.

The protesters, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against Gen Musharraf and Imran Khan.

On the occasion, Ms Jumani and Ms Rehmani rejected what they described as ‘abusive language’ and claimed that Imran did not know the basics of democracy and had introduced a culture of using abusive language in politics.

They advised the PTI chief to refrain from using derogatory language against their leadership in future.
