LAHORE: PPP Information Secretary Chaudhry Manzoor has termed former army chief retired Gen Pervez Musharraf’s allegation bogus that Asif Ali Zardari got his spouse Benazir Bhutto assassinated.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, the PPP leader raised three questions: who ordered withdrawal of Ms Bhutto’s security after her Liaquat Bagh public meeting, who commanded hosing down of the crime scene and why a first information report of the case was not registered on behalf of Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Referring to the jail terms handed down to two police officers in the case, Manzoor said if the officers considered themselves innocent they should seek forgiveness from Bilawal. He could forgive them provided they divulged whose orders they followed while damaging evidence by washing the crime scene.

He demanded trial of the former dictator in the cases of Karachi killings and alleged murders of scores of PPP workers in Sindh. He dared Musharraf to return to the country and face courts here instead of bragging about his bravery sitting abroad.
