ISLAMABAD: Several roads in the capital will remain closed from Muharram 8 to 10 and over 500 personnel will be deployed to maintain traffic flow, police said.

On Muharram 8 (Sept 29) a mourning procession will start after Zuhr prayers from Jamia Al Murtaza and culminate at Imambargah Imam Sadiq G-9/2. The areas including Zulfikar Chowk, Khokhar Turn, G-9 Turn Kashmir Highway, G-10 Double Road, G-10/3 and G-10/4 Chowk, Street 16 G-9/2, Street 11 Tank Karam Road will remain closed.

Residents of G-10 and G-11 will have to use Ibn-e-Seena Road to travel to G-8, G-7 and Faisal Avenue, while residents of G-9 and G-8 will use Kashmir Highway to head towards Tarnol.

Another procession will be taken out from Ali Masjid G-7/2 at 8pm which will end at Imambargah G-6/2. Khyber Plaza Chowk, Street 7-A and loop Fazal-e-Haq Road, Service Road G-7/2 will be barricaded.

The third procession on Muharram 8 will start from Sector G-7/3-4 at 9pm and end at Imambargah G-6/2. Potohar Plaza Fazal-e-Haq Raod, Street 24 G-6/2, Iqbal Hall, loop Seventh Avenue, Service Road, Post Office will remain closed.

The main procession on Muharram 9 will begin from Imambargah G-6/2 and end atthe same spot.

The procession route will be Fazal-e-Haq Road to China Chowk, Post Office Service Road, Saddar Road Iqbal Hall to Melody Chowk, Munciple Road Lal Masjid to Shuhada Chowk, GPO and Luqman Hakim Road.
