A "major terrorist activity" was averted in Balochistan after FC personnel conducted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Grandani, Kohlu, Ghazi Nullah and Uch Naseerabad and recovered large quantities of arms, ammunition and explosives, the army's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, said in a press release on Saturday.
The military said 1,300 kilogrammes of explosives were recovered during the raids. The explosives were meant to be used for terrorist activities in the province, it said.
Apart from explosives, the security forces also seized weapons and ammunition, including sub-machine guns, rockets and hand grenades. The raiding parties also found maps of important areas and communication during the operation.

Was any suspected terrorist also arrested? While the work of law enforcement agencies is commendable There is need to make some changes in our legal system. There is need to pass new laws and if needed, amend the present rules and regulations. In order to make it easy and fast to prosecute these people when arrested during the operations. There is also need of proper propagation of these laws and rules/regulations to create more awareness among the public.
It may be on the books but I never read in any newspapers that keeping of explosives at home, in your car or at person is against the law and is punishable under the laws. In western countries any illegal activity taking place in your car, beside the other person involved, the driver behind the wheel is also responsible.
We need to create more awareness among the public and guidance, how and where to report such activities to the law enforcement agencies.
