PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address a rally in Peshawar in support of his party candidate Asad Gulzar as part of the ongoing campaign for the by-election on NA-4.

According to PPP workers, Mr Bilawal was earlier expected to address a public meeting on October 24 but the date has been changed.

The venue and date, they said, would be announced within a couple of days. However, the rally is expected to be held on October 22.

It will be the third big event of a political party. PTI chairman Imran Khan and ANP president Asfandyar Wali have already addressed public meetings on October 13 and 15 respectively.

Sources said that PPP provincial leadership was yet to select venue for the scheduled rally.

Meanwhile, PPP provincial president Mohammad Humayun Khan on Monday addressed corner meetings in parts of NA-4 constituency and criticised provincial government for what he called its failure to provide drinking water to people.

He said that water was one of the basic needs of people but rulers were unable to pay proper attention to it.

The PPP leader also showed anger over power loadshedding and low pressure of natural gas and termed it failure of federal government.

He said that leaders of PTI and PML-N wanted to exploit the poor voters by initiating work on those projects. He said that people should reject such politicians.

Mr Khan claimed that previous government of PPP initiated work on several development projects and allocated huge funds for the purpose but the incumbent government stopped work on those schemes.
