All rounder Muhammad Hafeez's bowling action has been reported to the International Cricket Council (ICC) by match officials, the ICC said in a statement on Thursday.
He has been reported for using a suspect bowling action during the third ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka played in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Pakistan had won the game thanks to Hassan Ali's five-for and sealed the series with two matches still to go.
Hafeez, who has been suspended twice — in December 2014 and July 2015 — will be allowed to bowl for 14 days till an independent assessment of his action is carried out. He had resumed bowling in international matches after his one-year suspension was lifted in November 2016.

Its quite odd. Just when he has been classed as the guy who chokes batting line ups, this allegation is hurled at him. Strange. The flex is 15 degrees right, looking at his action whats the issue?

Why we are persisting with Hafiz. He is old. He will eventually get banned for bowling. Why not that young guy Ashraf as all rounder.

Here we go again, it seems that the rest of Cricket World just cannot stomach Pak success. With all the young talent coming up the ranks, the Cricket World should get used to pak winning.

This is a ridiculous rule. If a person is gifted by the Ultimate Creator with special flexibility in his arms, what right ICC has to challenge that?

Hafeez is a very economical bowler. Not sure why they keep suspecting his bowling action. Cricinfo has an amazing video about Hafeez's bowling contribution to Pakistan. I thought he had refined his action, passed the test and then allowed to bowl again. Why is that no Indian bowlers have ever been suspected of their bowling action?

Bowling in cricket is very much a set movement, mind you the bowl taking place in the photo looks very similar to the bowl of a pitcher in baseball,

@Carol Lee Murphy A pitcher in baseball has a more side on actions. Malinga comes to mind. Hafeez is not even close.

Bcos Indians don't bowl with illegal action. Simple!

@JACKJONES *"Why is that no Indian bowlers have ever been suspected of their bowling action?"*
That's because the Indian board roots out all the suspect actions at the domestic levels even before they can come to the international scene. But still there are a few in the past who have been called out at the international level and cleared. Harbhajan and Ashwin are two of those. However Pragyan Ojha has been banned

There were times in the 3ODI where it seemed like Hafeez was indeed chucking.. I am not talking about 15 degree bend but more like 45 degree bend.

And he is added to T20 team. I would rather go with Haris Sohail instead of Hafeez in any format as Haris Sohail is better batsman and left arm bowler plus much younger than Hafeez.

If Hafeez gets banned from bowling then he should retire gracefully. He had a good run, has made enough money to lead a good life. Certainly he will be associated with cricket one way or the other.

What the hell it is ? In the ongoing ODI series while reviewing decisions by the third umpire they have shown Hafeez's bowling action in slow motion. There wasn't anything that looked controversial. PCB needs to look
into this matter seriously and take appropriate action.
Hafeez has been our main asset in the middle overs of
ODIs.

Yes, everything against Pakistan, even if it is on merits, is a conspiracy always. It's not new, and frankly we are not surprised anymore at the mention of this word.

@SIAK Don't worry Imaad Wasim is always 1st choice when it comes to playing another spinner. With Faheem Ashraf another breath taking allround still to bat in the series, there remains plenty of people who are not able to make to playing XI.Pakistan ODI succees is entire due to set of players combination they currently have .

@Khurram Khan - "Does Hafeez bend his arm more than Ashwin?"
While bowling Ashwin bends his left arm, Hafeez his right - and therein lies the problem with Hafeez.
