KARACHI: Another woman was stabbed by a ‘lone bike-rider’ in the city on Thursday, this time in Saudabad area of Korangi district, indicating that such incidents have now spread to three districts of Karachi amid law enforcers failure to apprehend, or even identify, the culprit.

According to police, a 20-year girl was on her way to tuition centre from her home in Darakhshan Society when a man on motorcycle suddenly attacked her near Railway Crossing and fled towards Malir Halt. As a result, the girl sustained a minor injury on her hand.

Saudabad police have registered a case against unidentified attacker on the complaint of the girl’s father.

SSP of Korangi Nauman Siddiqui told Dawn that the latest attack appeared to be “different” from previous similar assaults on women in the city, but did not elaborate.

As many as 13 women have been stabbed and injured by the ‘bike-rider’ in Gulistan-i-Jauhar and Gulshan-i-Iqbal areas of East district from Sept 25 to Oct 5.

Recently, a teenage girl was attacked and stabbed in Federal B. Area of Central district.
