KARACHI: Habib Girls School (HGS) beat Bahria College 2-1 in a thrilling final to win the second Abdul Sattar Edhi Girls O-Level Throwball Tournament here at Generation’s School on Saturday.

HGS displayed superior game and technique to edge their rivals who went down after a tough fight.

Earlier, both the teams had outclassed their respective opponents in the semifinals tomake the final. HGS beat Shahwalayat School 2-0 in the first semi-final while Bahria beat City School DK Campus 2-0 in the second semi-final.

In the match for third position, Shahwalyat School had outplayed City School DK Campus Green 2-1.

In the quarter-finals played on Saturday morning, HGS beat Mama Parsi School 2-0; Bahria beat beat Dapus Sea View School, 2-0, City School DK Campus beat ISS School 2-0; Shahwalyat School beat Civilisation School 2-0.

The event, which had 32 teams participating in it, was organised by the Pakistan Throwball Federation (PTF).

Dr Ghazala Siddqui, Principal of Generation’s School, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes, trophies and gift hampers among the winners, runner-up and third poisition holders.

PTF general secretary Maqbool Arain, Generation’s School’s Darakhshan Ehsan and PWTA’s Rasheda Gill were also present on the occasion.
