Lyceum School, Alpha College excel in TT, badminton ties

KARACHI: The Lyceum School beat Alpha College 2-0 and Alpha College beat DA Degree College 2-0 in the U-19 girls table tennis competition held at the DHA Boys and Girls Degree College on Tuesday during the Karachi School-College Games being held in the city.

In the under-19 boys table tennis contests, also held at DHA Boys and Girls Degree College, The Nixor College beat Alpha College 2-0, Habib Public School beat DA Degree College (A) 2-0, DA Degree College (B) beat the Lyceum School 2-0 and The City School Gulshan Beat Whales College 2-1.

In the under-19 girls badminton competitions, Alpha College beat DA Degree College 2-0 and The City School Gulshan Campus C beat Nixor College 2-1.

The under-19 boys badminton contests also saw thrilling matches played. Alpha College beat DA Degree College Team “B” 2-0 while Nixor College beat The City School Darakshan Campus also by 2-0. Cedar College beat DA Degree College Team A by 2-0 and DA O’ Level School beat Habib Public School 2-0.

Earlier, Siraj Munir, Principal of DHA Boys & Girls Degree College opened the table tennis and badminton competitions of the Karachi School-College Games in a simple ceremony.

In the under-19 boys football, exciting matches were witnessed. The Lyceum School beat Habib Public School 3-0 at the Aga Khan Gymkhanawhile Cedar College “B” Beat South Shore by 2-0 also at the Aga Khan Gymkhana. In the third football match of the day, BSS PECHS Beat Meritorious 4-0 at IBA Ground.

Meanwhile, in under-19 cricket, Whales College beat Meritorious College by 6 runs in a thrilling tie at Hill Park while The City School PAF Chapter beat DA Degree College by 56 runs at the Vital Five Ground, DHA.
