KOHAT: A six-year-old boy was seriously injured when an unidentified man attacked him with a knife over a petty issue in Behzadi Chakarkot area here on Wednesday.

According to Javed, his son Zohaib was standing in the street near his house when somebody grabbed him from behind and cut his throat with a knife. The child could not see the attacker. He was taken to the emergency of the Women and Children Hospital where doctors referred him to the KDA Teaching Hospital.

Mr Javed, however, registered an FIR against unknown attackers.

He added that a surgeon at KDA hospital cleansed the wound and kept bandage on it and referred Zohaib to the Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar.

Meanwhile, a police investigating team searched for the attacker and nabbed him after five hours with the knife used in the incident.

The alleged attacker, Yousuf Khan, told the police in the presence of mediapersons that he asked the boy not to stand in the street and go inside the home, but when he did not obey he was infuriated and wounded him with a knife.

The police registered a case against him and have got his remand from a local court for investigation.
