Stationary shops are full of fancy and attractive stuff that it becomes difficult to decide which one to buy. And if you are one of those kids who love to decorate their school supplies, here is a nifty little pencil topper which you can make very easily at home.
Things you need:
Pipe cleaners (three green , one orange)
Liquid glue
Scissors
A marker (or a stick to roll pipe cleaner on)
One pair of googly eyes, (you can also make dots with a permanent marker too)
A pencil
Directions:
First the head: make a loop in the middle of one of the green pipe cleaners. The size and shape of the loop determine the size and shape of the head. Wrap the head from neck to (supposedly) nose, as in pictures 2, 3 and 4.
To make the body: coil the second green pipe cleaner around a marker and then slide off; picture 5.
To make the legs: cut the third green pipe cleaner into half, and then twist both pieces into half in the shape of legs, as in picture 6.
Now you have googly eyes, legs, body, head, and a three-inch piece of orange pipe cleaner for the tongue, picture 7.
Slide the body coil into its place (into the first pipe cleaner with the head), picture 8.
Put legs between the coil and twist to keep them intact. Then, curl the end of the pipe cleaner to make the shape of a chameleon tail; pictures 9 and 10.
Slide in the piece of orange pipe cleaner through the face at its respective place, picture 11.
Glue on googly eyes on the face; picture 12 and 13.
Insert pencil through the coil, picture 14.
Your chameleon is ready to stick on your pencil.
