Lyceum, Alpha and Nixor win TT, badminton finals

KARACHI: Lyceum College overcame a stiff challenge from Alpha College in the final of the under-19 girls table tennis competition to win 2-0 on Friday at the DA Degree College campus.

For Lyceum, Amal Iqbal and Wania Amjad displayed outstanding game.

The event was held as part of the Karachi School-College Games being held in the city under the auspices of Pakistan School Sports Olympics.

In the boys under-19 table tennis final, Nixor College beat Alpha College 2-0. Abdul Ghaffar and Ali Mehdi were the scorers for the winners.

In the girls under-19 badminton final, Nixor College beat The City School Gulshan Campus 2-0 with Dua Hasan and Eman Imran being the scorers for the winners.

In the boys under-19 badminton final, Cedar College beat Nixor College 2-1 after a tough fight. Ahmed Asif stood out for the winners while Abdullah and Osama of Cedar College came good in the doubles to win the match.

In the under-19 boys football quarter-finals played at Aga Khan Gymkhana Cedar College ‘B’ beat Whales College Blue 4-3 after penalty shootout.

In the second quarter-final, Cedar College ‘A’ beat The Lyceum School 2-0 while Beaconhouse Defence College beat Bay View High School on penalty shoot out in the third quarter-final.

Nixor College beat Beaconhouse Pechs A Level by 2-0.
