MULTAN: The three-day Urs celebrations of Bahauddin Zakariya and Khwaja Suleman Taunsvi and Khwaja Nizam Mahmood Taunsvi concluded on Saturday in Multan and Taunsa with special prayers for the progress, prosperity and security of the country.

The 778th Urs of Bahauddin Zakariya was concluded at his shrine at Qila Kuhna Qasim Bagh with a sermon by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the successor of the saint.

He told the congregation of devotees that high worldly posts did not fascinate him as he and his forefathers already had enjoyed number of posts.

“Being the caretaker of Ghaus Bahawal Haq is the most prestigious post for me,” he said.

He said that the shrines were not places for politics and he did not believe in the politics of abuse.

He thanked scholars and caretakers of various shrines who expressed their solidarity with him after he was criticised by his younger brother Mureed Husain Qureshi on the first day of Urs celebrations.

Mureed Qureshi did not attend the ceremonies on Friday and Saturday.

He said that Ghausia Jamaat was with ‘Dastaar’ and only one person can posses ‘Dastaar’.

“Please give all the posts of this world to my son, Zain Qureshi, as being caretaker of this shrine is sufficient for me,” he said. Also, the 167th Urs of Khwaja Shah Muhammad Suleman Taunsvi and Khwaja Nizamuddin Taunsvi concluded in Taunsa Sharif in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Caretaker Khwaja Attaullah Taunsvi and Khwaja Nassarul Mahmood Taunsvi performed the concluding sessions.
