ISLAMABAD: A 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit Quetta and its adjoining areas in the early hours of Wednesday morning, area residents said.
People rushed out of their homes in panic and gathered in open spaces, reciting verses of the Holy Quran. However, no loss of life and property was reported, news TV channels reported.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicentre of the quake was located 95km northwest of Quetta near Pak-Afghan border at the depth of 11km.
