KARACHI: Bounce Club continued their winning sequence when they swept aside Karachi Colts 37-24 in the group A clash of the 12th National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Cup basketball tournament at the Arambagh floodlit court on Wednesday evening.

The winners, who trailed the first quarter 5-6, won the second and third 8-6, 8-6 before rounding of the match by winning the fourth and last quarter hands down 16-6.

The trio of Mubashir (10), Hassan (9) and Mohsin (7) made their mark for the winners while Kashif and Tashfeen contributed 10 and seven points respectively for the losers.

Having beaten Karachi Colts on Monday, Bounce Club faces Neighbourhood Club in their third and last league match on Friday to decide top two slots of the group.

In an earlier match, Nishtar Club also strengthened their position inflicting 44-33 defeat on Munawwar Abbasi Club.

The winners led 31-11 at half time winning the first quarter 19-2 and the second 12-9. After securing massive lead, Nishtar Club relaxed and conceded the last two quarters 6-8 and 7-14 but that could not make any impact on their success.

Three players of the winning outfit – Hamza, Warren and Danish — finished in double figures with 18, 12 and 11 respectively.

Usman top scored for the losers with 12 and was followed by Hassan eight.
