PSX lands flat on week's close

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) landed flat on the week's close, with the benchmark KSE-100 index gaining a modest 31 points to close at 40,844.

The index touched the day's high of 40,910 towards the day's close, unable to cross the 41,000-mark which it fell below earlier this week.

Of the total of 346 traded scrips, 170 advanced, 152 declined and 24 remained unchanged.

Volume remained on the lower side with 115 million shares worth Rs5.5 billion traded, while the technology and communication sector dominated trading with 27.7 million shares traded in the day.

Mutual funds continued selling with the net sale of $3.87m worth stocks.

Volumes were led by:

  1. TRG Pak Ltd: 16.0m shares traded [+4.99pc]

  2. Azgard Nine: 12.7m shares traded [+3.56pc]

  3. WorldCall Telecom: 10m shares traded [-0.36pc]

  4. Sui South Gas: 7.9m shares traded [+4.98pc]

  5. Sui North Gas: 6.6m sahres traded [+0.93pc]
