MARDAN: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said on Friday that his party had regained its popularity and they would get majority seats in the next general election to form government in the province.

Addressing a public meeting in Baghdada locality here, he said that the incumbent provincial government led by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had become active after four and a half years of its tenure and was inaugurating development schemes like Bus Rapid Transit, flyovers and other projects in different parts of the province.

He said that the PTI leadership had failed to fulfil its promise of eradication of corruption from the government institutions. He said that the provincial ministers and lawmakers themselves were blaming each other for corruption.

Mr Hoti said that his relative, who was arrested on the charges of corruption, had been declared innocent and released by the relevant court.

He said that the people were fed up with the provincial government for not resolving their issues and problems.

The ANP leader alleged that Pervez Khattak was a powerless chief minister and all affairs of the province had been run from Bani Gala, the residence of PTI chief Imran Khan.

He said that the provincial government had secured huge foreign loans for launching development projects, which would create difficulties for the coming governments.

He said that unlike PTI they would not stop funds to the development schemes launched by its provincial government if people of the province voted ANP to power. On this occasion, several local activists of other political parties announced to join ANP.
