SWABI: The Women University Swabi (WUS) has granted affiliation for four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) programme to all the seven degree colleges of the district, officials said on Saturday.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the university presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Khanzadi Fatima Khattak. It was also attended by director academics, nominees of the academic council and principals of the seven girls degree colleges.

Relevant officials told Dawn that affiliation had been granted for BS four-year programmes in botany, zoology, chemistry, political science and Urdu. The BA and BSc programmes have also been affiliated with the WUS, they said.

Ms Khattak called for maintaining the educational and research standards as per the Higher Education Commission’s guidelines and standards.

The principals of the girls colleges lauded the WUS efforts for promoting education and welcomed the affiliation of their colleges with the university.
