The Rabi-ul-Awwal moon has been sighted and Monday will be the first day of the new month, furthermore, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) will be celebrated on Dec 1 (Friday), DawnNews reported.

The sighting of the moon was announced by Ruet-i-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, following a meeting attended by committee members.

Mufti Muneeb prayed for the progress and prosperity of the country and the people of Pakistan.

Muslims around the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), known in Arabic as the Mawlid al-Nabawi holiday, in the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
