OKARA: A Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team arrested a fake milk manufacturer travelling with a tanker full of the product.

On a tip-off, PFA Food Safety Officer Ghulam Sabir along with his team raided a house in Chak 28/2-L where fake milk was prepared. The manufacturer, Ameer Hussain, attempted to flee with a tanker full of the fake milk, but the team chased and arrested him. They also impounded the tanker.

They brought the suspect back to his ‘factory’ where they found empty packets and powder.

The team tested the ‘milk’ on the spot and some samples were sent to a laboratory. The manufacturing unit was sealed and milk in the tanker wasted. A case under sections 22 and 23 of the PFA Act 2017 was registered at Sadar police station. The tanker and suspect were handed over to police.

KILN OWNER: The owner of a brick kiln was booked for causing smoke and pollution. The assistant director (AD) environment, Naeem Iqbal, along with his team raided Malik Bricks Company in village 18/1 AL and arrested owner Haji Tanveer who was using solid waste, rubber and plastic items at the kiln causing heavy smoke.

On the report of the AD, a case was registered at Renala Khurd Sadar police station.
