GWADAR: Two suspected militants were killed in a gun battle with security forces in the Turbat area of Kech district. The clash also resulted in the martyrdom of a soldier and injuries to three personnel.

Security officials said on Tuesday that Frontier Corps personnel had launched an operation in the Dashat Panodi area near Turbat on information about the presence of armed militants there. A heavy exchange of fire took place between the security personnel and militants that continued for about two hours. As a result, two militants were killed and two others arrested.

“A soldier was martyred and three others were injured in the armed clash,” the officials said, claiming that the deceased militants belonged to the banned Balochistan Liberation Front.

They identified the BLF ‘commanders’ as Mahyar alias Beebager and Shabbir alias Hasil, residents of Dashat Panodi.

The soldier who died in the clash was identified as Nasir.
