KARACHI: Pakistan’s talented teenage shooters Ayesha Ghuffran and Nubera Masood will represent Pakistan in World Youth Olympics qualifier being held in Japan next month, National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) announced on Tuesday.

“These under-18 girls were selected on the basis of their performances in the nationals and youth competitions,” NRAP Executive Vice President Razi Ahmed Khan said while referring to Ayesha and Nubera.

Razi, who is also a licensed coach of International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF), said he was coaching the girls at the Pakistan Navy International Range at Karsaz for the upcoming event.

“Training is being given on modern lines with stress on technique, physical training and Abs/Core with centre body and big ball rolling,” he elaborated.

Ayesha will take part in Air Rifle competition in which she secured 410/436 points while Nubera who got 369/400 points will feature in Air Pistol contest.

Razi said another boy Muhammad Ghuffran was also selected in Air Rifle event but was withdrawn since he is suffering from Chicken Gunyia.

He said this is best platform to prepare young shooters for the future.

The third edition of 2018 Youth Olympics will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from Oct 6 under the auspices of Argentinian Olympic Association and as allotted by International Olympic Committee (IOC).
