MARDAN: The Awami National Party has named its candidates for six provincial assembly constituencies and one National Assembly constituency in Mardan district for 2018 general elections, according to party sources. They said that there were total eight Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and three National Assembly constituencies in Mardan district.

The sources said that Gul Nawaz Khan had been nominated as party candidate from NA-11 for the next general elections. For the provincial assembly seats, they said that Himayatullah Mayar had been named as party candidate for PK-25, Sher Afghan Khan for PK-26, Nasir Khan for PK-27, Farooq Akram Khan for PK-28, Shahrukh Aman for PK-29 and Hamayun Khan for PK-30.

They said that names of candidates for NA-9, NA-10, PK-23 and PK-24 would be finalised later. However, some activists within the party had expressed serious reservations about announcement of the candidates. They said that the party tickets had been announced without taking them into confidence.
