ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Saturday took exception to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leadership after the leaders of the two parties slammed PPP leader Asif Zardari recently.

Talking to Dawn, PPP’s Information Secretary Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed said he was surprised to see Maulana Fazlur Rahman ’s remarks about the PPP after a meeting between Mr Zardari and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, adding that such remarks did not suit the JUI-F leader, who got a share in every government as ‘charity’.

In Lahore on Friday, the JUI-F chief regretted that the PPP had become ‘politically helpless’ and ‘orphan’ to the extent of seeking help from such small groups as Dr Qadri’s PAT.

Also, PPP’s KP secretary general Faisal Karim Kundi accused PTI chairman Imran Khan of embezzling the money he received as donation for his cancer hospitals.

“A person who embezzled donation money for hospital cannot deliver for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His tall claim of bringing billions of rupees to KP is as hollow as his own personality,” said Mr Kundi in a statement.

Mr Khan at a rally on Friday made personal attacks on Mr Zardari while mentioning his act of dancing at the PPP’s public meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday.
