To keep you warm in winter, here is an interesting recipe of hot chocolate that is divinely delicious, with a thick creamy texture. But you need to ask your mum to make it as it needs cooking on the stove, and stirring and mixing the ingredients on it. So we would ask you to refrain from making it yourself, unless you are old enough to cook on a stove and have your parents’ permission.

You can modify the ingredients to suit your own taste, for instance, you can reduce the cocoa power or increase the amount of sugar and skip marshmallows, and still retain its delightful taste. This makes two servings.

Ingredients

• 4 tablespoons cocoa powder (the normal one used for baking)

• 2 cups milk

• 5 tablespoons sugar (you can add more if you want it sweeter)

• Pinch of salt

• 2 tablespoon cream

• 1/2 inch cinnamon stick

• Marshmallows for topping

Method

Keep a non-stick pan (if you don’t have it, you can use any other pan) over low to medium heat and pour milk and cocoa powder. Stir well to dissolve the cocoa until there are no lumps. Add sugar, cream, a pinch of salt and the cinnamon piece, and stir to mix and dissolve.

When the milk starts boiling and the ingredients are fully dissolved, take out the piece of cinnamon stick (if you can find it). Pour into two mugs and top with marshmallows.
