ISLAMABAD: In a bid to end stalemate on Fata reforms and secure the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) support for the smooth passage of the delimitation bill from the upper house of parliament, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi called on Maulana Fazlur Rehman late on Monday night.

The prime minister met the JUI-F chief at the latter’s official residence in the Minister’s Enclave after chairing a meeting of the National Security Committee, JUI-F sources told Dawn.

In their meeting, the PM impressed his host on the need for a resolution of the issue of reforms for the tribal areas, given the overwhelming support for the measure from all stakeholders.

The delimitation bill is scheduled to be laid before the upper house on Tuesday (today).
