There are a lot of ways of making photo frames at home with stuff like newspaper, cardboard, plastic sheets, discs and popsicle sticks. Today, we are making one from popsicle sticks.

You can buy the sticks from a stationery shop, or if you are a big fan of popsicles and can’t live without having it every now and then, then don’t throw the sticks. Just save them for making ‘wonder crafts’.

Let’s get started.

Things you need:

  1. Water colours, any two colours of your choice; you can use one colour if you want.

  2. Paint brush

  3. Eight popsicle sticks (you can make with four as well)

  4. Hot glue or white glue

  5. Six-inch long string

  6. Piece of paper (3x3)

  7. Flowers or beads for decoration

Directions:

  1. Take two sticks and join them together as in pictures 2 and 3.

  2. Repeat the same step to make four pairs, picture 4.

  3. Colour each pair (either different or same, it is up to you), picture 5.

  4. We now have two green and two orange pairs of sticks, picture 6.

  5. Glue the top of any pair and stick a different coloured pair of stick on top of it to make a square-shape, as in pictures 7, 8.

  6. Take the piece of paper, picture 9, and then turn it from the sides as in picture 10.

  7. Stick the paper on the back of the frame, picture 11.

  8. Glue the string on the top side of the frame, picture 12.

  9. Our frame is ready, see picture 13.

It’s time to decorate it. The decoration depends on your creativity. I just used a flower and leaves.

You can use beads stickers, ribbons, etc. Let your imagination loose and decorate it in any way you want! Happy crafting!
