Jinnah Sahab: Sorry we have lost half of Pakistan due our prejudices and hate and are not yet behaving like a nation. Sadly Pakistan is run by two dynastic families in two provinces and they want to stay in power for ever.

Two towering personalities shown in this article (the Quaid and the Raja of Mehmoodabad) belonged to a minority group. Most Pakistanis probably don't even know who the Raja of Mehmoodabad was. Please take this post as a humble appeal to treat the minorities with kindness and respect. Dawn, please publish my comment.

Simply, do not have appropriate words to describe the greatness of this elegant person. A person with no ambitions of his own devoted his life for the creation of the homeland. It is true that only those with sincere heart and complete devotion to their cause succeed. May live in peace in the finest corner of the heavens.

@Sandeep Kumar, "I think today's Pakistan is not the Pakistan of Mr. Jinnah's dreams.."
Yes, as a Pakistani, I completely agree that we have fallen far short of what Jinnah wanted us to be. However I take hope from the fact that at least we are trying to move in the right direction, however much we stumble along the way.
All three main political parties in Pakistan, irrespective of their deep differences with each other, loudly and publicly proclaim their aspiration to meet Jinnah's ideals, and, especially in recent years, there has been a clear trend of moving in this direction. This is in keeping with the public mood.
Can the same be said of India? Just look at the way the BJP traduces Nehru's legacy (what a sight it was to see the BJP recently denigrate Nehru with regard to Kashmir, and Imran Khan speak more favourably of Nehru!). The RSS, whose cabal now runs India, is the very organisation that produced the man who murdered Gandhi!
People in glass houses should not..........

Jinnah was a Gujrati Muslim. He was principled, honest, pragmatic, progressive and enlightened man because he was raised in a British system and not in a Madrassa.
If all all Pak leaders came from Gujrat then today Pak would have been a different place because Gujratis are learned, smart and law abiding people and not Feudals (looters, killers and consider themselves above the law) or Mullahs (need I have to say more than the word Mullah) but it was not meant to be and that is the reason for the sorry state of Pak affairs.

@NKAli,
"All Pakistanis should hang their heads down in absolute shame."
No. All Pakistanis should remember him, and what he stood for, and the sheer magnitude of his sacrifice for us, and never lose sight of that.
The time for mourning and self-pity is over. It's never too late to honour our Quaid-e-Azam. Perhaps today we are failing, perhaps tomorrow also, perhaps next year, but the battle for his Pakistan isn't over, not by a long way.
Please remember his words: "there is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan."
Excellent pictures Dawn, thank you.
