KARACHI, May 4: Former Sindh High Court judge Z. A. Channa died of heart failure on Tuesday night at the age of 87. Justice Channa also served as provincial and federal law secretary and director-general of the Judicial Academy. Among the books authored by him is a commentary on the Customs Act. He was the father-in-law of Justice Rehmat Hussain Jafri of the Sindh High Court and KTN Chief Executive Aslam Kazi.

Soyem will be held on Friday between Asr and Maghreb at his residence, 81-D/1, Bath Island Hill.

No judicial proceedings were conducted in the SHC after tea-break on Wednesday to mourn the death of the former judge.
