KHAIRPUR: The Sindhi Adabi Sangat (SAS) of Piryaloi held a ceremony to mark the 21st death anniversary of renowned singer Sarmad Sindhi on Wednesday.

Speakers said on the occasion that late Sarmad Sindhi was a social worker besides being a singer. He used to support a number of families in getting their bread and butter, they said.

He also supported children’s education in his native town of Piryaloi, they said, adding that till date Sarmad Sindhi was a great identity for Piryaloi. Sarmad was a sensitive person and had a unique style in singing which was being followed by a number singers even today.

The ceremony was also addressed by poet Sajjad Mirani, Roshan Shaikh, Saeed Sindhi and others.
