The writer

This is with reference to the story “The writer” by Hamza Ali Marti (YW, November 25). The story well-depicted the views of all those students who cannot express their aim in life in front of their parents. These kids are afraid of being demotivated or scolded by their parents for choosing something not considered suitable by them.

Parents play a great role in a child’s life. No parent would want their child’s future to be ruined because they want the best for their kids. But sometime what parents consider best and what their children desire the most are different and this is when a clash of opinion takes place.

Apart from that, most children do not have a perfect guideline and strategy to move in the right direction. And this is where parents should guide their children. Parents should encourage their children to come up with their own ideas and then discuss the merits and demerits with them.

The story showed me how important it is to focus on my field of interest.

Child labour

Children in Pakistan continue to be engaged in various forms of child labour at a very tender age. Our government has always ignored the problems of child labour, beggary, drug trafficking and other illicit activities that affect the mental and physiological well-being of children.

I therefore request the government to eradicate child labour from the country and provide a peaceful and educational environment to all children.

Water crisis in Karachi

I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the water crises prevalent in Karachi.

People unwillingly have to order expensive water tankers to fulfil their needs. Water is a necessity and it is the duty of our government to provide the nation with water. Therefore, it is my humble request to the government to notice these problems and solve then immediately.

Don’t accuse anyone!

This is with reference to the story “Don’t accuse anyone!” by Iqra Aslam Memon, (YW, September 16).

The story was nicely written. I learnt from that we should not blame anyone, until or unless we have seen anything ourselves. As in the story, the girl named Huma was blaming the daughter of their maid for stealing her doll, but when her mum found the doll, which was not taken by the maid’s daughter, she felt ashamed.

Therefore, we should not make such assumptions and accusations.
