TAXILA: The Pakistan Hockey Federation on Tuesday joined hands with the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) to establish a national-level academy and lay an astroturf at the Hockey Ground POF Sports Complex Wah Cantt.

In this connection, an MoU was signed between the two at the POF Sports Complex Wah Cantt by POF Chief Lt General Umar Farooq Durrani and PHF president retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) in December last year approved projects worth Rs592 million related to culture, sports and tourism under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2017-18 for replacement of synthetic hockey turf in Seven Cities viz. Islamabad, Faisalabad, Wah Cantt, Peshawar, Quetta, Abbottabad and Lahore.
