LAHORE: Some of the hockey Olympians have decided to move NAB against the financial irregularities allegedly being made in the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) these days.

Olympians Khawaja Junaid, Salim Nazim, Khalid Bashir and others have prepared an application to move NAB after they failed to get the desired results in the PHF Congress meeting that was held in Islamabad on Thursday.

The application carries details of the cheques, under which millions of rupees were allegedly withdrawn in cash during September and November 2016 in clear violation of the PHF rules. The details also carry the names of the PHF staff who received the cash.

On 2-8-16, an amount of Rs 1000,000 was drawn in cash and on 3-8-16, another huge amount of Rs 1,974,730 was withdrawn, according too the details provided in the application drafted for NAB. The same day, another amount of Rs 2,000,000 was withdrawn and then, on 12-8-16, an amount of Rs 4000,000 was withdrawn.

Similarly, on 21-8-2016, two amounts were withdrawn, first Rs 2,040,000 and then Rs 2,743,625. Likewise, on 28-9-16, 22-11-16, 23-11-16, and 30-11-16, further hefty amounts were also withdrawn. Khalid Bashir told Dawn that all the applicants are going to meet the NAB chairman on Friday to personally hand over the application for the accountability bureau to start investigation against the PHF.
