GHALANAI: Miscreants fired four missiles into the border area of Mohmand Agency from across Afghan border on Thursday.

According to a security source, unknown miscreants fired missiles at 1:45pm which landed in a deserted area about one kilometer from sub-division complex Bahai Daag in Mamad Kore area of Khewazai Biazai. No loss of life or property was reported in the attack.

The security force officials also retaliated with heavy weapons and targeted a suspected location on the Afghanistan side.

After the incident, security was tightened and checking at various check posts increased in the entire agency.

Meanwhile, an improvised explosive device planted by unknown miscreants near the residence of Malik Hayat Gul of Masood Adamzai in Safi tehsil went off early on Thursday morning.

The main gate of the house was damaged in the incident. However, no loss of life was reported.

Also in the day, the bomb disposal unit of Mohmand Rifles in Bahai Daag safely defused an IED planted by unknown miscreants on a track at Olai Top border area along the Pak-Afghan border in Biazai sub-division.

THREE DIE ON ROAD: A truck crushed three motorcyclists to death on the main Peshawar-Bajaur road near Darwazgai area of Safi tehsil the other day.

The victims were identified as Arabi, Amanat and Saadat.

An official said that the truck driver fled after the incident while the Levies Force personnel had impounded the vehicle found parked near the tehsil building.

Meanwhile, a woman identified as wife of Yardad Khan died when boundary wall of their house fell on her in Barokhel area of Haleemzai tehsil.
